GENERAL FAQ

  • BOOKING TIMEFRAME
    All load-in, setup, cleanup, resetting, and load-out must be completed during your scheduled rental period. Please budget your time accordingly, and contact us if you’d like to extend your booking.

    ADDITIONAL TIME - CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE
    As we navigate a high volume of bookings during our opening period, same-day extensions are not available. We kindly ask that you book the time you need in advance and ensure you exit the studio by the start of the next scheduled session.

    EXCEEDING BOOKING TIME
    Please be aware that exceeding your reserved time will result in a $50 charge per every 10 minutes.

    We do not have an Elevator at this time (coming soon)

    There is no one on site to assist, please review our FAQ and Welcome Guide for all information.

  • Your check-out is promptly at the time listed on your booking. You are required to clean up after yourself, throw away any trash, and return all items to their original positions.

    Please note: Studio is under video surveillance to asses any damages.

  • Entry to the studio is password-controlled and automatically logs when you enter and exit. Please be aware that exceeding your reserved time will result in fees.

    Video surveillance is located within the studio for the protection of both clients and the space. Footage is reviewed only if we need to verify damage or identify the responsible party.

  • We have ample parking at the back and front of the building.

  • You may back up to the doors for load-in and load-out only. Please park your vehicle in a designated spot afterwards.

    At this time we do not have elevators, please be mindful that we are located on the second floor.

  • All bookings are final. No refunds. You may reschedule your booking up to 48 hours in advance. Please review our refund/credit policies.

  • If your start time is less than 48 hours out, no refund will be given, no exceptions. All bookings are final. You may reschedule up to 48 hours before your booked timeslot.

  • Cyc wall use is a premium studio feature.You may add to your booking for an additional $50.

    Our space features a beautiful Cyclorama wall measuring 15’ x 15’ and is located on the West wall with South facing windows. Direct sun on the wall occurs in the mornings until approximately 2pm during the winter season. During direct set, cyc wall is best used with additional lighting as it appears with seams

    Please be mindful of the curves of our cyclorama wall. They’re sturdy, but not meant to be stepped on or used to support objects. Any damage to the curve will require a repair fee as outlined in your booking information

  • Cyclorama Wall: Please stay away from the curve of the wall to avoid damage. This would incur a significant damage fee to repair.

    Staining or breaking furniture or props: Will need to replace furniture and you will need to cover the cost.

  • To keep the studio experience exceptional for every guest, please restore the space to its original layout before departing. We suggest taking a reference photo upon arrival for an easy reset.
    Should the studio require significant cleaning or a complaint be raised by the next client, a $250 cleaning fee will be applied.

  • If severe weather, major snow storm, a power outage, or any unsafe condition prevents the studio from operating, we’ll happily reschedule your booking.

OTHER FAQ

  • For the protection of our studio and the safety of all clients, the following are not permitted:

    • Anything that punctures or adheres to surfaces—including nails, screws, staples, tacks, tape, or glue

    • Making holes in walls, ceilings, or floors

    • Painting or altering any studio surface

    • Sparklers, fireworks, pyrotechnics, or similar effects

    • Hazardous, toxic, or flammable materials

    • Open flames, candles, grills, or any heat-producing equipment

    • Mess-prone materials such as glitter, confetti, rice, bird seed, silk petals, or silly string

    • Alcohol, drugs, or recreational marijuana

    • Smoking or vaping of any kind inside the studio

  • Music is allowed and encouraged during your booking. However, please keep it at a reasonable volume so we’re considerate of everyone working nearby.

    We also ask that loud yelling or disruptive noise be kept to a minimum to avoid disturbing other tenants.

  • While MOVA is designed for visual creativity, it is not built as a sound-controlled studio. We operate within a shared building, and natural ambient noise from nearby businesses may occur.

    For any project requiring clean audio, please come prepared with proper microphones and noise-reduction equipment. The studio is not soundproof.

    Please note: we are situated next to both an active railway line and a busy road. There is also ongoing construction at the time within the building which may impact audio recordings.

  • All items within the space you booked are yours to use, including any items within the storage closet. Feel free to move them around and create your own scene, as long as you return them to their original location by the end of your booking.

  • We do not offer lighting in the space, it is a natural light studio with South facing windows. However, that also means the lighting is weather dependant so be sure to BYOL (Bring your own lights) and keep an eye for the sunset time on your scheduled timeslot.
    We have plenty of outlets.

  • We provide rolling walls that can be arranged to create a private changeroom near the makeup station by the cyc wall. If you require additional privacy, please feel free to use the restrooms down the hallway.

  • Restrooms are located down the hallway and are shared with the other tenants in the building. You’ll find 6 private restrooms.

  • We ask that you avoid bringing any strong or pungent foods or products into the studio, out of respect for the clients who come in after you.

    If anything is spilled or dropped, please clean it up right away. Spills on the couch will incur a $250 cleaning fee, and significant damage may require the furniture to be replaced.

  • We love them, but we also need to keep the space clean for everyone. Pets are allowed on a case-by-case basis—please check with us first.

    Please bring all required cleaning supplies to clean up if your dog makes a mess - and take it with you so it doesn’t stink up the space.

    Service animals, of course, are always welcome.

  • STRICTLY PROHIBITED.

  • Our studio is not childproof, so please supervise little ones closely at all times.

    If you need to change a diaper, kindly take it with you when you leave so the studio remains fresh for the next client.

    Please avoid bringing sticky snacks—while we understand the power of a good bribe, we also want to prevent tiny orange fingerprints on our white furniture.

  • If you left something behind, shoot us an email and we’ll check.
